Ask about the exact service you booked

Advice about clothing is often presented as one rule for every massage. That is not a reliable way to prepare for a menu with different service formats. Ask the spa what clothing is appropriate for the service name and duration on your reservation. A direct answer is more useful than a generic checklist.

You might ask: “I booked a 60 minute Futon Massage. Is the session performed in clothing, and is there anything specific I should wear?” If you chose Table Massage, ask the same question for that service. Do not assume the arrangements are identical, or different, without confirmation.

Plan for an uncomplicated arrival

For the journey, wear something you find easy to sit and move in. Consider the weather and the activities before or after your appointment. If you are coming straight from another commitment, give yourself enough time to arrive without feeling pressured by clothing changes or a tight schedule.

Keep the things you bring manageable. If you plan to carry jewelry, a bag, or other personal items, ask where those items can be placed during the session. Do not assume a locker or a particular storage arrangement is available unless the spa confirms it.

Make comfort preferences part of the conversation

If you prefer to remain clothed, need an explanation of the setup, or have a particular privacy preference, say so before the service starts. Ask what can be accommodated. It is better to know the answer before making or keeping a reservation than to arrive expecting an arrangement the spa has not offered.

You are also free to ask for an explanation at the appointment. Clear communication about clothing and covering should happen before you are expected to get ready. If a detail is unclear, pause and ask rather than feeling obliged to guess what is expected.
